This 1892 Halfcrown is a handsome silver coin from the later years of Queen Victoria’s reign, struck at the Royal Mint during the Jubilee coinage period (1887–1892). It features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria, facing left and wearing a small crown and veil, designed by Sir Joseph Boehm. The obverse legend reads “VICTORIA DEI GRATIA”, meaning “Victoria, by the Grace of God.”

The reverse, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon, displays a crowned shield of arms within the Order of the Garter, surrounded by the inscription “BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:” — “Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith.” The date “1892” appears below the shield. The edge is milled, and the coin is struck in sterling silver to the high standards of the Victorian Royal Mint.
