The 2021 Royal Mint UK Brilliant Uncirculated Annual Coin Set presents the complete range of United Kingdom circulating coinage and commemorative issues for 2021 in official Royal Mint presentation packaging. Produced to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, each coin has been struck to a higher quality than circulating examples, making the set an attractive addition to any modern British coin collection.

The 2021 collection is particularly notable for its range of commemorative designs, celebrating important figures and events from British history, literature and science. Included are commemorative coins marking the 95th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Life and Works of H.G. Wells, the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of Walter Scott, and the centenary of the discovery of Insulin.

Presented in its original unopened Royal Mint packaging, this set offers collectors the opportunity to acquire the year’s coinage exactly as issued by The Royal Mint.

A popular modern annual set, the 2021 Brilliant Uncirculated Collection combines historic themes, attractive designs, and official Royal Mint presentation.

Historical Background

Annual Brilliant Uncirculated coin sets have become one of the most popular ways of collecting modern British coinage, providing examples of the year’s circulating and commemorative designs struck to a higher collector standard than coins released into everyday circulation.

The 2021 collection reflects a wide range of themes. The commemorative £5 coin celebrates the 95th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, whilst the £2 commemorates the centenary of the discovery of Insulin, one of the most important medical breakthroughs of the twentieth century. The 50 Pence issues honour the celebrated science-fiction author H.G. Wells and the Scottish novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott.

Together, these commemorative coins make the 2021 Annual Set an important record of Britain’s cultural, literary, scientific, and royal heritage.
